Site and handling conditions

counterbalance electric forklift

A counterbalance electric forklift brief changes when the building, dock and battery room change. This page translates those conditions into purchase requirements. Electric Counterbalance Forklift Sourcing does not survey the site or certify floor loading.

Illustrated warehouse plan with aisle and dock notes

Warehouse putaway and replenishment

Write pallet size, rack beam height, working aisle and whether free lift is required under low sprinklers. A truck that clears a nameplate lift height can still fail if the mast collapsed height hits the door lintel. State indoor duty hours and whether the same unit also works the receiving dock.

  • aisle width and turning notes
  • lift height versus collapsed mast
  • destination and quantity by mast class

Manufacturing receiving and line feed

Stillages and mixed pallet heights change fork length and load center even when the rated capacity looks familiar. Ask factories to quote attachments separately. Keep pit work, anchors and charger rooms as named extras so a plant quote does not swallow site work.

  • load center with attachment
  • floor condition and grade breaks
  • battery voltage versus available supply

Indoor dock peaks

Trailer-side peaks raise duty cycle and may need a different battery or opportunity-charge note than overnight putaway. Record dock height only as a site constraint for the truck path, not as a dock-leveler purchase unless that equipment is in the same RFQ on its own line.

  • lifts per hour at peak
  • charger location versus travel path
  • freight and commissioning exclusions

Mixed indoor yards with painted lanes

If the truck leaves the rack aisle for a painted outdoor-adjacent apron that stays under roof, write the grade, wet-floor note and tire expectation. Do not treat an outdoor rough-terrain machine as a substitute without restating the entire brief.

  • surface and grade
  • tire and braking notes to request
  • what the factory must exclude

Site constraints to tick before the RFQ

Use this checklist as a writing aid. It is not an interactive controller and it does not submit data.

  • Rated capacity at a stated load center, including any attachment
  • Lift height, lowered height, free lift and door lintel
  • Working aisle width and rack face clearance
  • Battery voltage, charger type and charging-room clearance
  • Quantity, destination and requested delivery window
  • Installation, freight and commissioning included only if requested

Public specification sheets are reference information. Copy the unit names into the brief instead of a bare number. Then send the brief or review power options.

Turn the site note into a factory request

Share the building constraints with product, quantity and destination. Optional budget stays a buyer preference.
